Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the burger sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pickle juice
  • 2 tablespoon dill pickles chopped
  • 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

For the bowls:

  • 2 heads Romaine lettuce
  • 2 cups Cherry tomatoes halved
  • ¾ cup cooked bacon crumbled
  • ½ cup pickles
  • red onion sliced
  • 1 large avocado chopped

Instructions

  • Warm a skillet over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef along with the spices. Cook the beef, breaking it apart as it browns, until no pink remains.
  • While the beef is cooking, prepare the burger sauce. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and whisk until smooth and well blended.
  • To assemble the burger bowls, begin with a base of romaine lettuce. Layer on the toppings and spoon the cooked beef over them. Finish by drizzling the burger sauce on top.

Notes

  • Drain excess fat – Especially if you're using beef with more than 15% fat. It keeps the bowl from feeling greasy.
  • Don’t skip the sauce – It really brings the whole bowl together.
  • Pickles – If you don’t like pickles you can omit them, however I highly recommend using them as they are the key for that classic burger flavor.
Meal Prep & Storage Tip:
  • These bowls are perfect for prepping ahead. Cook the ground beef and let it cool completely. Divide the ingredients (except avocado) into separate containers—ideally using two-compartment containers to keep everything fresh.
  • Keep the burger sauce in a small jar or condiment cup. When you're ready to eat, warm the beef, slice up some avocado, and assemble your bowl. Finish with a drizzle of sauce and enjoy!
  • Once everything is mixed together, it’s best eaten fresh. But if you keep the components separate, they’ll stay good in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
