Equipment

Ingredients

  • cups mixed frozen berries
  • 1 tablespoon oats
  • ½ cup non-fat Greek yogurt you can also use plant based yogurt like soy or coconut
  • ¾ cup milk you can also use plant based milk or water
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoon honey optional, you can substitute for maple or agave syrup

Instructions

  • Start by adding the milk, honey, and vanilla extract to the blender, followed by the frozen berries and oats. Adding the liquids first ensures a smoother, creamier blend.
  • Blend until all the ingredients are fully combined and the texture is silky. Use a spoon to check for any unblended berries and give it another quick pulse if needed. If the smoothie is too thick, gradually add more milk until the desired consistency is achieved.
  • Pour the smoothie into two glasses. For a little extra flair, garnish with additional berries and a sprinkle of oats. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Start by adding liquids to the blender, followed by the oats ingredients, and finally the frozen fruit. This method makes it easier for everything to blend evenly.
Storage Instructions:
  • Refrigerator: Store the smoothie in an airtight container for up to 1-2 days. If separation occurs, simply give it a quick stir or re-blend before consuming.
  • Freezer: Pour the smoothie into a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion, and freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before enjoying. Alternatively, freeze the smoothie in ice cube trays; when ready to drink, blend the cubes until smooth.
  • Popsicle: For a fun twist, pour the smoothie mixture into Popsicle molds and freeze until solid. These make for a refreshing, healthy snack on the go.
