This Triple Berry Oat Smoothie is inspired by the popular smoothie with the same name from Tropical Smoothie Café. I love berries and this one is one of my favorites from their menu! So I had to recreate it to enjoy it at home!

🌟 Why you will love this Smoothie

    • Nutrient-Rich: This smoothie is perfect as a nutritious snack or even breakfast because it is packed with antioxidants from the berries, protein from Greek yogurt, and fiber from oats
    • Extra Creamy Texture. The Greek yogurt gives this smoothie that perfectly creamy texture.
    • Quick and Easy: This smoothie requires only 5 simple ingredients and comes together in less than 5 minutes.

    🍓Ingredients & Substitutes

ingredients needed to make Triple Berry Oat Tropical Smoothie

Mixed Frozen Berries. Mixed berries add natural sweetness and a boost of antioxidants. I like to use a blend of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries; however, you can mix and match based on what you have or what you love!

Oats. Oats make the smoothie thicker and add fiber. If you need a gluten-free option, just use certified gluten-free oats.

Greek Yogurt. The Greek yogurt adds protein and makes the smoothie creamy. You can use regular or low-fat Greek yogurt. If you want to make it vegan or dairy-free, simply substitute the Greek yogurt for a plant-based yogurt like coconut or soy yogurt.

Milk. Any milk works! You can use regular or plant-based milk like almond, oat, or soy milk. You can even swap it for fruit juice if you prefer.

Vanilla Extract. Vanilla goes so well with the berries and adds a warm vanilla flavor and a hint of sweetness.

Honey. Optional! The smoothie is already sweet from the fruit; however, if you like your smoothie sweeter, add a drizzle of honey. You can also use maple or agave syrup, or skip it for a more natural taste.

🥣 How to make this Smoothie

Pour the milk, honey, and vanilla extract into your blender. Add the frozen berries and oats on top.

    📖 Storage Instructions

Refrigerator: Store the smoothie in an airtight container for up to 1-2 days. If separation occurs, simply give it a quick stir or re-blend before consuming.

Freezer: Pour the smoothie into a freezer-safe container, leaving some space for expansion, and freeze for up to 2-3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator overnight before enjoying. Alternatively, freeze the smoothie in ice cube trays; when ready to drink, blend the cubes until smooth.

Popsicle: For a fun twist, pour the smoothie mixture into Popsicle molds and freeze until solid. These make for a refreshing, healthy snack on the go.

    🍊 RECIPE VARIATIONS

    • Green boost – Toss in a handful of spinach or kale for extra nutrients. The berries mask the flavor, so you won’t even taste the greens!
    • Protein pack – Add a scoop of your favorite protein powder to turn this into the perfect post-workout smoothie.
    • Nutty twist – Blend in a tablespoon of almond or peanut butter for a rich, nutty flavor and a boost of healthy fats.
    • Citrus burst – Swap half of the milk for orange juice to add a bright, zesty kick that pairs perfectly with the berries.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Expert Tips

    • Layering Matters: Start by adding the liquid ingredients blender, followed by the oats ingredients, and finally the frozen fruit. This method makes it easier for everything to blend evenly.
    • Use Frozen Fruits: Using frozen berries helps to create a creamier texture without needing to add ice which can dilute the flavor.
    • Adjust Consistency: If the smoothie is too thick, gradually add more milk until the desired consistency is achieved.
    • Sweeten to Taste: Depending on the natural sweetness of your berries, adjust the amount of sweetener to suit your palate.
