    • High in Protein – The main ingredient in these chips is cottage cheese, which is a great source of protein.
    • Simple and easy to make – This recipe requires only two ingredients and comes together in 5 minutes!
    • Customizable –  You can easily switch up the seasonings to match your cravings.
    • Crispy & Satisfying – This chip is just as crunchy as a regular one.

    🧀 Ingredients & Substitutes

ingredients needed to make cottage cheese chips

Cottage Cheese – Use whole milk small curd cottage cheese (4% milkfat) for the best texture.

Parmesan Cheese – Adds saltiness and extra flavor, and helps with the crispiness.

Everything Bagel Seasoning (optional) – Gives the chips a delicious, savory kick. Feel free to swap with other seasonings like garlic powder or smoked paprika.

🥣 How to Make These Chips

    Step 1: Prep & Shape

Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Drop about 1.5 tablespoons of cottage cheese onto the sheet, then flatten each portion to about 3/16 to ¼ inch thick.

Step 2: Add Toppings & Bake

Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of Parmesan over each chip and top with Everything Bagel seasoning if desired. Bake for 30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and crispy.

    Step 3: COOL & ENJOY

Let the chips cool completely—this helps them get even crispier!

    📖 Storage Instructions

Once cooled, store the chips in an airtight container to maintain their crunch. If stacking, place parchment paper between layers to prevent sticking.

    • Refrigerator: Keep them for up to a week.
    • Freezer: Store for up to a month. Reheat in a hot oven for a few minutes to restore crispiness.

    Recipe Variations

    • Onion and Garlic flavor – Add a sprinkle of garlic and onion powder before baking.
    • Spicy Chips – Mix in a pinch of cayenne pepper or smoked paprika for a little heat.
    • Herb-Infused – Try adding dried oregano, basil, and or chives for a herby twist.

    👩🏻‍🍳 Expert Tips

    • Use Whole Milk Cottage Cheese – Whole Milk Cottage Cheese is higher in protein and contains less moisture. And this helps the chips to become crispier. If your cottage cheese contains moisture, use a fine mesh strainer to get rid of all the extra liquid.
    • Bake Until Deeply Golden – The chips will continue to crisp up as they cool, but make sure the edges are dark golden for the best crunch. Every oven is different; if after 30 minutes, your chips are still not golden on the edges, bake them a bit longer.
    • Let Them Cool Completely – It is important to leave the chips to cool down completely because during the cooling process, the chips become crispier.

    💬 FAQ

Can I use small curd cottage cheese?

Yes! Small curd cottage cheese works well, but make sure to use whole milk (4% milkfat) for the best results.

How do I get cottage cheese chips to be crispy?

Use high-protein cottage cheese, flatten the cheese evenly, and bake until the edges are deep golden brown. Let them cool completely before eating.

Can I make cottage cheese chips in the microwave?

Yes, but they won’t be as crispy as oven-baked ones. Microwave them on parchment paper in 30-second intervals until they firm up.
